What is made in Vila Canoas from June 1994 to June 2002 with the help of Para Ti

  • brinquedoteca in 1994 (a room with several toys);
  • GODFATHERING - from 1994 - to help poor children paying nursery, school ( fees, transportation, books, cloths ), being 350 from italian and 40 from brazilian families;
  • Sport activities for teenagers, mainly soccer;
  • Support - from march 2000 - the ASSOCIAÇÃO BENEFICENTE SÃO MARTINHO in the Center for Children in Vila Canoas along with PARA TI paying its costs with donations from COME NOI and DANIELE AGOSTINO FOUNDATION. Much effort was made to help teenagers to qualify in classes to attain jobs both in the Municipality and also in private concerns. From April 2000 on the management of this Center was directly assumed by PARA TI in a contract with the Municipality of Rio;
  • FAVELA VILA CANOAS' REHABILITATION THROUGH THE AGREEMENT HELD IN MARCH 1997 BETWEEN RIO'S GOVERNMENT, COME NOI (also representing the EUROPEAN COMMUNITY), AMAVICA and PARA TI, whose main works and actions taken until concluded in mid 2002, were the following:

    • Social works:
      • City nursery for 150 children from 3 month to 4 years of age, total area 5400 sq.foot, in agreement with the City Department of Education;
      • City Center of Integrated Assistance ( CEMASI) total build area 700 square foot in agreement with the City Department of Social Development to assist the Community , several classes and organizing of events for teenagers and adults;
      • Family City Health Building, total area 1300 square foot with agreement with the City Health Department . One area destined to the City Department of Planning.
      • City Center PARA TI to help circa 100 students from Grammar School up to 8th grade and to promove artisan activities, substituting the former Centro São Martinho, in agreement with the City Department of Social Development;
      • Community Association Center, total area 800 square foot, which is the home of the first BIBLIOTECNA DO BRASIL ( a library and a Internet connection free for the community ). Classes for the preparing for the University organized by voluntarily students from the Catholic University (called PROJETO CONSTRUÇÃO);
      • Info Center holding 8 PC donated by the Rotary Club, area 220 square foot. Already some 400 people from the Community were formed here;
      • Professional classes for 60 adults;
      • Moving 20 families from dangerous areas to houses donated in other Communities.

       

    • Structural works:
      • Central sewage system connecting 385 houses, 1190 foot length;
      • Small alleys paving, total 5900 foot;
      • Draining, total 2700 foot;
      • Contention walls, total 600 foot;
      • Public illumination 3300 foot of cables;
      • Drinking water system pipes, total 3300 foot;
      • New Squares area, total, 10.000 square foot;
      • Total external rebuilding of São Paulo Square ( under project of ARQUITRAÇO Architects and Volunteer manpower from the community).
      • Total mapping of the VILA CANOAS is under progress, being the responsibility of RIO's Govern.

    Apart from all above programs, the donations from DANIELE AGOSTINO FOUNDATION to PARA TI have had a tremendous impact both to the CHILDREN CENTER SÃO MARTINHO and scholarships 2nd grade and university students.

    Those above initiatives occupy to-day 60 workers from the Community, that are paid by Rio's Govern, being total investment of this 7 years period correspondent to US$ 1.700.000 divided by :
